Windows
In this challenge, my images all turned out to be very moody. I love the different texture and angles each photo has and I love the pop of colours. I think that bringing nature, such as the vines, creates a new feel to the images because a window is simply glass and wood, but with nature it brings the photo to life and gives a new perspective to the challenge. Photoshop was simple, but good enough to improve the style of the photos. I quiet enjoyed this challenge and it was a great last photo challenge of the year.
Colour
For this photo challenge, I decided to choose a very scarce, unique colour that is hard to find. I chose yellow not just for these few points but because its a bright colour that i know would light up my images and bring a different taste to the images. The set turned out great, almost a modern feel to them and i really love the aerodynamic sign image. I chose to black out the backgrounds so no other colours would compete with the yellow and so it would really pop. I am very happy with this set and i think i will look to capture more yellow in my future images.
Negative space
For this assignment, I did not have an idea of what i wanted to do until i stumbled upon these images on my computer. I saw the potential in the backgrounds and knew that they would work perfectly for this challenge. I started by cropping the backgrounds first to set the subjects in clear perspective. Afterwards, I simply edited the images to distinctively bold the colours and edges within the subjects on the photos. I think that the one on the left is my favourite because i think the propeller is super cool and i think its a unique image. All three images capture a different type of negative space.
mundanity
With this assignment, i went for a walk in the bog and captured some really different images. I decided in the editing process to give the set a very dark almost creepy feel. I find that the mood of the images are very dark and gloomy and i think the set is very different from my other work. My favourite would have to be the tree, i feel that image gives a very different perspective and I live the sky. In each photo I used a vignette, to add to the dark aspect of the images. Altogether i Really like the mystery that the set has and i think it is a strong piece of work.
Long exposure - Light drawing
This project i got to experiment with a whole new camera. I really enjoying being able to go crazy with different colours and create something really cool out of just a bunch of wavy lines. I really aimed to bring out the bright colours raising the saturation and contrast because i really wanted an abstract set. I like how they look like radio waves and i think this whole process really helped me learn new skills when using the long exposure camera. This was my first time using the long exposure lens and it was very fun! I hope to create more using this technique again.
Winter wonderland
For my Winter wonderland set, I managed to capture three very different winter settings. Each image shows a different feel to winter, for example the first one is more warm and the last is cold. Each image appears clean and they all have the same colour tones making them go well together as a set. My personal favourite would be the last one because I enjoy how the ice is almost sparking on the branch. Altogether, this set checks all my objectives for this photo challenge.
choice photos - sunsets
For this set, I really decided to experiment with various colour tones to create three very bright, vibrant images. Each one has its own pop of colour and I really enjoy how each sky looks like something out of a SI-FI movie. My favourite defiantly would be the middle one. After a whole class of editing, i managed to take colours from the sky and reflect them onto the buildings. I love the turnout. The three images together look very colourful and each one compliments the other. Altogether I am very happy with the overall feel and look of these images.
Architecture
With this photo challenge, I really tried to take things to a new level. Instead of contrasting the colours, i decided to change the images to black and white, then i played with the tones. I chose to go with more of a dark theme, and i think that the turnout is more awesome than I had hoped for. My inspiration must have been the picture in the middle, i took the theme and ascetic aspect form it and carried it into the other two. Each image has a very cool feel, almost as if they are telling a story. My favourite would have to be the one in the middle. I love how the lightning is pouring into the city, almost like its painting the city in darkness. Overall, this set turned out really great and i am pleased with he turnout.
Choice Photos- Texture
These images might just be my favourite yet. This week, we got to choose our photo of the week challenge. At first, I did not know what I wanted to do, until I found these photos in my folder. I started by converting them to black and white, giving the lines and texture a more drastic depth. After playing with the contrast, sharpen and brightness, i was left with these three perfect images. I really love the way they all compliment eachother and after seeing them together only made them stand out even more.
Food Week
This weeks photo challenge was food! I experimented taking photos of many food courses but these three showed the best. I worked a lot with photoshop (for the first time in photo class) and i found the tool extremely useful. This being one of my first projects proved to be more fun then stressful and i look forward to doing more shoots. I chose to shoot a burger, taco and chicken wrap. All being main meals made the shoot focus more on one large main meal rather than more smaller ones. This shoot proved fun and i hope you enjoy these photographs. :-)
Night time photos
For this challenge, I took the risk by taking a different approach. Instead of taking pictures of the night, I chose to take pictures of lights, representing darkness representing night. Altogether these images really turned out, and they all managed to match together very well. I enjoyed using photoshop in this challenge because I was able to choose how much I wanted the lights to stand out in the image. The style, colour and pop these photos have made this challenge really enjoyable.
